Wright Chairman George Vaught Joseph Naumcheff FLOAT AWARDS AND JUDGING Eight awards will be made this year for floats judged first and second in four categories. All are listed below: GRAND PRIZE President's Award Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce Trophy. These two awards, in order listed, are given to floats judged first and second in entire parade on basis of theme, beauty and originality. THEME Governor of Indiana Trophy Mayor of Indianapolis Trophy These trophies are awarded to the floats that portray the greatest degree of design, presentation, and effect of the theme to be represented. BEAUTY "500" Festival Queen Trophy "500" Festival Princess Trophy These trophies are given for the floats judged most colorful, attractive, comely, elegant, graceful and picturesque. ORIGINALITY "500" Festival Directors Trophy "500" Festival Associates Trophy These two trophies are awarded for floats that are the most independent and creative in thought or action, with qualities that are inventive, animated, clever and novel. Judging began on May 15, when periodic inspection of all floats, under construction, started at the "500" Festival Service Center. Floats were then carefully judged in the marshaling area before the start of the parade and receive final scrutiny from the reviewing stand as the parade passes. Awards will be presented to the winning sponsors at the Indiana World War Memorial. -2A-
