A GROWING NURSERY FOR A GROWING NEED These happy children are enjoying music at the Lockerbie Branch, 542 Lockerbie Street. One of the three locations of the Indianapolis Day Nursery. Similar groups also could be found at the West Branch at 2402 West Michigan Street and Northside Branch at 3522 Central Ave. Children between the ages of 3 to 8 years old receive excellent all day care, hot lunches, afternoon naps, classroom instruction, supervised play from a staff composed of two trained and experienced teachers for each group plus a registered nurse and a part time physician, a dietician, and a caseworker to help work out arrangements and maintain relationship between par ents and the nursery. All of this under the direction of Mrs. Robert J. Covert. A Fund Drive is under way for a new Day Nursery to replace the Lockerbie Branch. A square block area bounded by 9th, East, Arch and Park has been razed. The new $675,000 facility will be completed in early 1971. The welfare of children of working parents is the primary interest of the Indianapolis Day Nurseries.
